Are you interested in helping with the initial testing of the Beta version of the GoTriple platform?  We currently offer different ways to do just that!

The TRIPLE project has partnered with another European H2020 project called ReachOut to recruit early testers.

ReachOut, the beta-testing campaign platform for research projects, is able to offer a 30 Euro reward for up to 24 participants for the testing of the Beta version of GoTriple via their website.  Participants will be entered into a draw if more than this number fully complete the test. Testing will take less than an hour with a short questionnaire to complete at the end to tell us what you think of the platform so far and what should be improved.  To start the testing, please use this link: https://www.reachout-project.eu/view/Main/#TRIPLE_anc.

The Beta version of GoTriple is an initial release of some of the planned features of GoTriple. More features of GoTriple are still to come, such as the user profiles and relevant discovery dashboards. So stay in touch to find out more on https://project.gotriple.eu/ . We will likely run another testing session before Christmas, as soon as additional features are released.  

We are also looking for some participants for the qualitative testing phase and for the definition of the governance of GoTriple. Your opinion is needed! Which tools would you like to have available on the GOTRIPLE platform?

We would like to hear opinions from reserachers in the social sciences and humanities fields (future GOTRIPLE users) about what kind of services we could integrate in the platform. This will help us plan for the future and make sure that the users will find the services that they need the most in GOTRIPLE.

TRIPLE is a European H2020 project that launched on 7 October 2019. At the heart of the project is the development of the GOTRIPLE platform, an innovative multilingual and multicultural discovery solution for social sciences and humanities. GOTRIPLE will provide a single access point that allows researchers in social sciences and humanities to explore, find, access and reuse materials such as literature, data, projects and researcher profiles at the European scale. Also GOTRIPLE will be integrated with specific “innovative services”, namely a Recommender System, the Trust Building System for selected users interactions, an interactive Visualisation search interface, a web Annotation Tool and a Crowdfunding platform.

We are currently looking for Europe-based researchers from social sciences and humanities (SSH) disciplines to support our user research for the development of the GOTRIPLE discovery platform.

Our project, TRIPLE, deals with social sciences and humanities (SSH) research, and our goal is to build a digital platform that supports the discoverability of research publications and data as well as contacts. The SSH research fields are divided across a wide array of disciplines and languages. While this specialisation is definitely important in these research fields, it also leads to a fragmentation that prevents SSH research from reaching its full potential. Use and reuse of SSH research is low, interdisciplinary collaboration possibilities are often missed, and as a result, the societal impact is limited. TRIPLE seeks to address these issues: It enables researchers and other stakeholders to discover and reuse SSH data, but also to find other researchers and projects across disciplinary and language boundaries.

Why do we need you?

We are in the process of conducting co-design workshops and interviews with SSH researchers. Co-design is a collaborative approach to the development of a specific product, in our case the GOTRIPLE platform: Instead of conceptualising and creating the product solely based on our team’s experience, ideas and expectations, we actively involve researchers and other relevant stakeholders in the process.

The co-design sessions will help us understand the needs of future GOTRIPLE users so we can design a user-friendly platform that will make your life as a researcher easier!

What do we want you to do?

You will participate in an online co-design session, either a workshop with 2-3 other participants or a one-on-one interview. The tools we use are Microsoft Teams for communication and Miro, which is an interactive virtual whiteboard tool. We will provide access to both. The sessions will be recorded.

We anticipate that the sessions will last between 45 and 90 minutes.

Our aim is to find out how you go about your daily professional work as a researcher, including which digital discovery tools you typically use throughout the research cycle.

The next opportunity to take part is a codesign workshop on 9 December, 11:00-12:30 CET, on the topic of the recommender system, one of the innovative services of the GOTRIPLE platform.

Interviews will be arranged at a mutually convenient time (approx. 60 minutes).

TRIPLE has launched a User Research Survey that will help to tailor the services and tools of the project’s innovative multilingual and multicultural discovery platform to the needs of the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) community.

The questionnaire is targeted at SSH researchers and academics at any stage of their careers – from Master student to full professor – who are currently working in a European country.

We are curious to find out what exactly you need and prefer as a potential future user of the TRIPLE platform. In particular, we would like to know more about your work practices relating to digital technologies. This includes information on your

• use of tools for discovery used to explore, find, access and reuse material such as literature, data, projects, researchers’ profiles etc. that they would need for their own research work
• use of tools for the management and retrieval of material 
• use of tools for conducting research (including data collection and annotation)
• use of tools for networking with colleagues or other stakeholders
• digital literacy and general discovery practices
• hardware devices used in the research cycle

The results of the User Research Survey will be published in the “Report on User Needs” in November 2020.
